Nerf N-Force Marauder Long Sword

What little boy doesn’t like swords?  Knights use them to ward off the dragons, pirates use them and the list could go on an on.  My son eventhough he is only the young age of two has had swords for awhile.  He started with those little cheap $2 foam swords.  He became a fantastic aim after a little practice and used them until they broke which wasn’t long, so we went and replaced them with more cheap swords.  What I am getting at is the price of those cheap swords start adding up after awhile.

I knew that Nerf made an amazing line of swords but had never been able to find them at our local store, so when I had the chance to do a review for the Nerf N-Force Marauder Long Sword I couldn’t resist.  Keep in mind that these swords are recommended for ages 8 and up!  We had to make it very clear to him that he could only “sword fight” against another sword which wasn’t a problem.  From the time we received this fantastic sword, we had to go out and purchase a matching one.  His little cheap foam swords could not take the beating that the N-Force Swords deliver.  Eventhough they hold the NERF name, they are not just foam.  There is a plastic rod that runs the length of the blade and is covered with foam.  This sword can do some damage if you are hit unexpectantly (trust me).

Everyone in our house has enjoyed these swords.  Our daughters, son and even my husband and I have joined in on the fun.  Ofcourse it is hard to not join in on the fun when you have kids always asking you to play against them. The sword is as big as my son is, but he sure knows how to swing it! The only thing that isn’t allowed with this sword is “knighting”.  It has been tried by my fourteen year old and then when the two year old went to “knight” her back it didn’t end so well.  She regretted ever making that suggestions.

The Nerf N-Force Marauder Long Sword can be purchased for $17.99 from HasbroShop, Amazon, Toys ‘R’ Us and many other great retailers.

I also wanted to mention a review that I did back at the start of summer.  Simply a follow up to the question, Do you still use this product?  The product that I am talking about is the Nerf Lazer Tag NERF Two-Player Battle System. You can read my review HERE.  These Lazer Tag guns are still used literally every day in our house.  Once again they are suggested for ages 8 & up, but our son has a grasp on it.  At the time I did the review he had just turned two and couldn’t really hold the guns that great.  Now he is a little over 2 1/2 and is an amazing shot with these guns.  We literally run around the house throughout the day hiding and shooting with these guns and yes the batteries have had to be replaced by now!  He uses the site on the gun to aim at me,  however I choose to not use that so needless to say he wins all the battles.  But this is a fun toy as well and worth checking out!  Even our little 5 1/2 year old nephew loves these guns. Eventhough they are priced at around $49.99 they are so worth it.  I always feel that if they play with it then it’s worth it, no matter the cost.  However, I always hate paying a fortune for something and just see it in the corner of their rooms.  This is a toy that I have a feeling would not reman in the corner of the room.

Recently my son has added the Nef N-Strike LongShot CS-6 to his Christmas List.  He originally caught it on a commercial and checked it out the other while we were going through the Nerf section at our local walmart.  If you are curious, here is a little about this gun!.

This blaster is more than three feet long and can launch foam arrows up to 35 feet away! Aim with accuracy and precision using the targeting scope. Two quick-reload clips hold a total of 12 STREAMLINE DARTS. There’s even a fold-down bi-pod to help you steady your aim for important shots. Looking for a quick shot at close range? The blaster has removable parts to give you one-handed freedom with a single-shot blaster! In either mode, load up, aim, press the trigger and watch the darts go the distance! This gun runs around $29.99
